Past to Present: Teaching the History & Legacies of Enslavement and Facilitating Classroom Conversations on Complex Topics

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY:

“Past to Present” is a week-long summer institute that aims to support K-12 educators in teaching about the history of enslavement, its legacies, and related contemporary controversies in the classroom. The institute is co-designed and presented by the Democratic Knowledge Project, Project Zero, and Educational Ethics.

Past to Present will be held at Harvard University and is funded by the Harvard and the Legacy of Slavery initiative. Scholarships will be available to support housing & travel for educators teaching in descendent communities.
