Past to Present: Teaching the History & Legacies of Enslavement and Facilitating Classroom Conversations on Complex Topics

“Past to Present” is a free week-long summer institute that aims to support K-12 educators in teaching about the history of enslavement, its legacies, and facilitating productive classroom conversation on hard topics. The institute is co-designed and presented by the Democratic Knowledge Project, Project Zero, and Educational Ethics.

“Past to Present” will be held at Harvard University and is funded by the Harvard and the Legacy of Slavery initiative. A limited number of scholarships will be available to support housing and travel for educators. The institute website is now live, please click the button below to access the website.
